Application for Free, Reduced Meals Now Available Online

Belton ISD families are encouraged to submit the Free and Reduced School Meal Application for the 2022-2023 school year. The application is available online at www.schoollunchapp.com

The district is returning to charging for meals after benefits from the U.S. Department of Agriculture that allowed all students to eat free for the last two school years expired earlier this summer.

“It’s a fairly quick online application that will allow families to see what benefits they qualify for,” said Donna Shelton, assistant director of school nutrition. “Benefits could include free or reduced meals as well as other non-food benefits such as reduced fees for academic testing and college application fees. It’s definitely worth the time to submit the application.”

Breakfasts and lunches are provided daily during the school year on the district’s 18 campuses. Menus, pricing and payment options are available at www.bisd.net/nutrition

“We know that when students have full stomachs they are better prepared to learn,” Shelton said. “Our Nutrition Services team is honored to play a role in helping our students pursue their dreams and enrich their communities.”
