Current title/school? Third-grade math and science teacher at Tarver Elementary.

What inspires you to work in Belton ISD? I am proud to work in the community I live in. I have the opportunity to get students excited about math in third grade. The students inspire me to create engaging and collaborative lessons every day. 

Tell us a fun fact about yourself. I love taking risks. A few years ago I had an opportunity to raise money for the Special Olympics. I raised enough money to participate in Over the Edge, which allowed me to rappel down an 18-story building in St. Louis. 

What was a pivotal moment in your career? I moved to Texas in 2018 after taking a four-year hiatus from my teaching career. This was a pivotal moment in my career because I found my love for teaching again. I am so grateful for the opportunities Belton ISD has provided for me and I can't wait to see what the future holds. 

Academics? Bachelor of Arts in history and a Master of Arts in education from Columbia College.
