Families wanting to transfer their students to a school in Belton ISD for the 2023-2024 school year can now submit an online transfer application. The deadline to apply is 4 p.m. on March 31.

This application is for pre-K-12 students residing outside the district as well as students residing in Belton ISD who want to attend a school different from where they are currently zoned. 

“Sometimes there are unique family circumstances where it makes sense for a student to attend another school,” said Cynthia Bode, director of student services. “That’s what this application is for. We consider several things when making a decision on whether to grant the request, like the family’s situation, the student’s attendance and/or discipline history, and the space available at the requested campus.” 

There are five elementary schools that are not accepting transfers for the 2023-2024 school year because of enrollment caps, Bode said. These include Chisholm Trail Elementary, Lakewood Elementary, Leon Heights Elementary, Sparta Elementary and Tarver Elementary.

Families should also note that the district does not provide transportation for transfer students, Bode said, and current transfer students must reapply each year.
