Manuel Alcozer was appointed in 2018 to fill a vacancy on the Board to represent Area 5. He has served as a local attorney for more than 25 years.
Alcozer attended Belton ISD schools for his entire early education, graduating from Belton High School in 1980. His wife, Rebecca, is a culinary arts teacher at Belton High. The couple’s three children have all attended Belton schools.
Before attending law school at Southern Methodist University, Alcozer worked as a registered respiratory therapist. He now serves as chair of the Advisory Committee for the Respiratory Care program at Temple College. Alcozer has previously served as vice president of development for the Belton Educational Enrichment Foundation and two terms on the District 8 Grievance Committee for the State Bar of Texas.
“Belton has been my home for the vast majority of my life and I care very deeply about our community and way of life here. The stability and quality of the schools is an important part of that, and I view this opportunity as a privilege to serve the needs of the students of BISD.”
